Group Seed Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formby u3a have identified a need to create new groups both for our current and new members. While it is expected that all groups should be self financing  we recognise that in the short term, before a group has a sufficient members, it may struggle to cover its initial costs. We are proposing to offer seed funding  up to a maximum of \u00a3200 to help get new groups started. It is broadly up to the group to determine what this money is used for but we anticipate it being used for equipment, books, venue hire, speaker or instructor costs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Aid App<\/span><\/strong> – St John\u2019s Ambulance have a free app which could be very useful to some of our groups \u2013 especially to walkers and amblers. Even basic first aid knowledge can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.  St John\u2019s Ambulance\u2019s free first aid app puts potentially life saving advice at your fingertips. Available for AndroidTM<\/sup>, BlackBerry\u00ae and iPhone\u00ae mobile device users, the app provides easy to follow advice on a range of first aid scenarios, from minor injuries to major emergencies. We recommend that Group Leaders  consider whether it might be useful to their group to download this app which can be found here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
