Please see the map at the bottom of the page for the location of the hall<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Access <\/strong>There is ramp access to the hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parking <\/strong>Please remember to enter your vehicle registration number on the electronic pad in the hall foyer each time you park.&nbsp; There is no charge for parking but failure to enter your number will almost certainly result in a heavy fine.&nbsp; If you are unsure what to do please ask for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If you do not renew your membership you are deemed to NO LONGER BE A MEMBER of Formby u3a and cannot partake of any of their activities as you will no longer have valid insurance cover<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Monthly meetings<\/strong> &#8211;<strong> more details when available <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>June 10th 2026<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>Our Songs of the Sixties group<\/strong> performing a session<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 8th 2026<\/strong> Julia Clayton &#8211; <strong>From the Parthenon to the Monument: The Architecture of Lord Street, Southport.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>August 2026 &#8211; No meeting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sept 9th 2026<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>The Restoration of Daniel Adamson<\/strong>. &#8211; September is a talk by two volunteers from the Daniel Adamson Preservation Society who are going to tell the remarkable story of the Danny \u201c<strong>The Tug that Survived to Sail Again<\/strong>.\u201d The Daniel Adamson is coal fired steam tug tender launched in 1903 from the golden age of British engineering and had a career ranging from towing humble barges to entertaining Kings and Queens on the famous Manchester Ship Canal. After a working life of over 80 years, she was eventually abandoned and destined for the scrap yard. At the11th hour in 2004 she was rescued by a dedicated group of volunteers and after many trials and tribulations was returned to her former working glory, sailing the waterways of the North West for the enjoyment of all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Oct 14th 2026<\/strong> Peter Mellor &#8211; <strong>The Assassination of Lady Diana Spencer<\/strong> as she was not a royal at the time of her death. Pete will commence with a timeline of Diana\u2019s life from her engagement to Prince Charles in 1981 to her arrival in Paris on August 30th 1997. He will then follow events from her arrival at Le Bourget airport with Dodi Fayed to the fateful journey from the Ritz Hotel to the crash in the Alma Tunnel. Utilising witness statements from the Diana Inquest, the presentation will refute the French &amp; Scotland Yard verdicts that the crash was caused by a drunk driver being chased by paparazzi. He will submit that Diana had only minor injuries after the crash, and was mistreated in the ambulance, causing her death. He will further claim that this was an assassination run by British &amp; French intelligence services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nov 11th 2026<\/strong> &#8211; John Joyce &#8211; <strong>Grenfell Tower<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jan 2027 Paul Hughes &#8211; Medical Memories Roadshow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feb 2027 Roger Browne Concert<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">March 2027 Fran Sandham &#8211; In the Forbidden Land<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">April 2027 Brian Topping &#8211; Tales of a Customs Officer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May 2027 Jean Finney- Nursery Rhymes Part 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">June 2027 Alan Williams &#8211; Australian Romance Novelist<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thursday &#8211; Coffee Morning <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#ffeb00\"><strong>Coffee Mornings are from 10:30 to 12:00 on each second Thursday of the month, except August.&nbsp; These are held in the Workshop, Holy Trinity Church, with free coffee and the chance to pick up information about other groups and meet some of your Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#ffeb00\"><strong>These are a great opportunity to meet new people and make friends as well as ask any questions you have about u3a.
